On a visit to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts I spotted an unusual object in a frame. It was a 'stick chart' from the Marshall Islands. It was particularly interesting to me because my father was in the Marshall Islands in WWII. One side of this accordion book is about relatively modern navigation; the reverse side is about the traditional method used in the Marshall Islands.
